Revert the table update

Hi GitBook,

Recently, you released an update that broke a lot of my existing work. I was using tables inside tables, blocks inside tables, and other layouts that are no longer supported.

I would kindly ask you to either revert this update or make these features available again.

This would save me many hours of reworking and rethinking how to format my pages.

Hi @xu4l - sorry to hear the format isn’t working as you’d expect anymore. However, nesting tables is something that was never explicitly possible in GitBook - although you may have found a workaround to accomplish this.

We’ve since introduced better checks to enforce this rule on our side, as it can lead to more issues and errors with markdown and Git Sync in the application.

Right now, you’ll need to rework some of the formatting in the page.

So is nesting tables will be a feature that could be added soon ?
As in expandables, I do not really understand why making a rule about it.

More possibility makes more creativity :)

Or maybe add vertical divider then add the possibility to put divider inside tables.
It would be pretty the same as nesting tables.
