Hello Team,
I need some assistance with unpublishing a GitBook site.
We have unpublished our documentation website (https://mayastor.gitbook.io/introduction/), as it is no longer valid. However, despite unpublishing, the site is still publicly accessible.

Could you advise on how to completely unpublish or disable the site so that it is no longer visible to the public and does not appear in Google search results?

Hi @balaharish7 - can you let me know what you mean as still published? I’m not able to access the link you shared - it opens the editor view (expected - and I’m not able to access it as I’m not a part of your organization)

Hi @addisonschultz - Thank you for your message. What I mean is that the content/website (https://mayastor.gitbook.io/introduction/) is still visible and accessible to the public. For example, when someone searches for Mayastor Docs or navigates directly to the above URL, the site is still viewable.

@john-gitbook! Yes! The site is unpublished now. Thank you. By the way, the website still appears in Google search results. How can we ensure that it does not appear in Google or any other search engine?

that can really vary. It takes time for search engines to recrawl the site and recognize its status has changed. The crawl frequency is determined by Google and isn't super clear.

There is not. We look after the redirect if you have a site in the same org and that url changes but there isn't a way to redirect https://mayastor.gitbook.io/ to a url that is somewhere else.
